Michael Wilson

Retired Pro BIke Rider ex Tour de France and Giro Stage winner. Michael had a great career throughout the 80’s and 90’s. He rode the Vuelta in 1983 and finished it off in fine style by winning the final stage on the Via Castellana in Madrid. He also rode the Giro five times with an 8th in 1985 and 17th in 1986 and was a stage winner from Viareggio to Cortona in the 1982 Giro d'Italia. He has also won a stage in the 1989 Tour of Switzerland.

In his life as a former Pro Cyclist he is an accomplished winemaker and has a small vineyard and a cellar door in Tasmania where he and his wife Mary produce and sell their wines under the label of Velo Wines.
